The future of money is not being discovered—it’s being engineered. And the battleground is the stack.

As central banks and crypto protocols race toward programmable money, the most important question is no longer which technology wins, but who controls the architecture—and with what intent.

They’re market signals.

High-privacy? Likely aimed at replacing stablecoins.
Yield-bearing? Signals inclusion of institutional capital.
Prohibited tokenized deposits? A move to assert monetary supremacy.

The greatest opportunities lie in Layer 2+:

  • Cross-rail settlement APIs

  • Wallet infrastructure tailored to CBDC regions

The infrastructure being built between sovereign stacks may prove more defensible—and profitable—than the tokens themselves.
